When creating a document, you may select a category, like song, presentation, Bible, speaker notes or PowerPoint. Documents are categorized according to their contents. You can organize lyrics slides and other elements in separate documents, create playlists, manage and insert backgrounds, foregrounds, media files and much more. You may need to look over its documentation or watch a tutorial, but it will not take long until you can master its controls.Īll operations can be performed on the same window. The program presents an abundance of options and tools. The user interface has the same layout from previous ProPresenter versions, but with a few tweaks and adjustments, because it would be pointless to fix something that is not broken. It also requires a Core 2 Duo processor of 2 GHz or more and at least 4 GB of RAM. ProPresenter works on Windows 7 and Windows 8, as well as Mac OS X Snow Leopard or later. If they are already installed, the wizard will install the main application right away. The setup wizard will install a series of prerequisite tools, like the Bonjour Print Services, Quick Time 7 and others. It takes several minutes to install ProPresenter on your computer. The program is intended mainly for church gatherings, but it can serve many other purposes, like sporting events, conferences and so on. While showing a presentation, you can use the program's numerous controls to display messages, change backgrounds, organize and prepare the next song and lyrics and more. There are all sorts of applications on the Internet, which you can use in situations like this, but with ProPresenter, you can do much more than displaying a few lyrics on a separate monitor or with a projector. I frequently have to disable the stage display, go into Preferences, change the stage display, then re-enable it again.A choir can sound much better if lyrics are displayed somewhere in visual range. So what happens is, many times when I start up ProPresenter, it has mixed up the order of my screens, so it puts the Stage Display on my main monitor. Integration between ProPresenter Display Settings and Windows Display Settings is not good. If I don't, I know that it won't be long before ProPresenter crashes entirely, and then I'll have to restart computer anyway. Whenever there's a glitch or hiccup in the software (ProPresenter) I have to restart the whole computer. Frequent crashes - well maybe not actually frequent, but often enough that I'm searching for some other solution that is more stable. And forget about Google Slides! It takes a lot of work to convert Google Slides to PowerPoint, fix all the formatting, then import to ProPresenter. The only way to reliably import PowerPoint is to remove all transitions and animations, then import PPT as JPG. Doesn't import PowerPoint presentations very well. Why? Double-click functionality works in some parts of the software, but not others. Preferences menu has been built to look/act like Mac. Some dialog boxes are non-standard, they've injected Mac dialog boxes into the Windows version, so buttons and functionality are different than other Windows software. It's designed for Mac, and the Windows version is not built very well. It integrates with Planning Center Online. I would not recommend this to anyone using Windows. If that's the case, why is the software full of Mac dialog boxes, Mac functionality, and no double-click functionality? If it's built for Windows, why doesn't it work like other Windows software? Whatever the case may be, the software is very disappointing, and I'm in the process of switching over to something else. Renewedvision support told me that the Windows version was built from the ground up for Windows. many loose ends didn't get ported over properly, and as a result, ProPresenter has lots of problems with crash/lag/user interface. When using the software on Windows, I get the feeling that ProPresenter was built for Mac, then ported over to Windows, but not very well. Here are two scenarios, both of which are fails: 1. There are many problems which, when combined, create a really bad user experience.
